The much-anticipated production “Peter Pan” opens April 24 and will run until June 14 at Orem’s Hale Center Theater.

Described as having a clever take on the flying sequences and an amazing whimsical steam-punk look, the show is said to be different from anything people have seen before.

“This cast has some professional-level gymnasts, and we use them to full effect,” said Ben Henderson, who plays Captain Hook. “The degree of difficulty in this show is so unique. It’s a one-of-a-kind combination of production staff and talent.”

Also said to impress is the play’s set design and costume details.

“They are spectacular and add so much to the storytelling that goes on,” said Marissa Smith, who will take on the role of Wendy Darling. “It will make the show magical for all ages.”

While the classic story from J.M. Barrie’s famous novel is clearly geared toward young children, the actors in the play say the show will appeal to a broader audience and be something everyone can connect to and be moved by.

Director Dave Tinney and music director Rob Moffat said they have been working with the actors since the beginning of March to make their vision a reality. Following opening night, there will be shows running Monday–Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with additional Saturday matinee performances at 3 p.m.

Tickets range between $16 and $21, with discounted children’s tickets. They are available online by visiting halecentertheater.org/theater and clicking the ticketing tab.
