BYU men’s tennis takes a loss against Santa Clara

BYU took a 6-1 loss from Santa Clara with freshman Jacob Sullivan securing BYU’s only win of the day.

Sullivan played at sixth singles and beat his opponent in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Playing at third singles BYU’s freshman Matthew Pearce lost his first in his last six matches, losing 6-4, 3-6, 1-0.

For second doubles Pearce joined junior Francis Sargeant to beat Ashot Khacharyan and Mikheil Khmiadashvili, 8-2.

BYU will be on the road again next week taking on No. 55 San Diego. The match will take place on saturday at noon PDT.
