The BYU Bookstore will be hosting a free event with the BYUtv cast of “Studio C” and the illustrator of “Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol,” J. Kirk Richards, on Nov. 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. during the Early Bird Christmas Sale.

The invited guests will be available for photos and autographs on the main floor of the bookstore near the religious books section. The first fifty people in line will receive a free “Studio C” T-shirt.

According to a news release regarding the attendance of “Studio C,” the show is “grabbing the attention of family audiences across the U.S. with its laugh-out-loud scripted and improvisational sketches that focus on the sometimes wicked humor inherent in everyday life.”

Gordon Brown, BYU Bookstore general sales manager, said Richards has been a guest of the bookstore for many years and has been involved with Education Week and Women’s Conference in the past. “Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol” follows the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge through Richards’ illustrations and can be found in the Bookstore.

“(Richards’ art) has been published in the ‘Ensign,'” Brown said. “(It is) a little different than some of the LDS art that you see, and I think that it has been very well received.”

Similar events inviting guests such as Sheri Dew and Brandon Sanderson have been held at the Bookstore and have attracted large amounts of people, according to Brown.
