BYU volleyball prepares for last home games

The No. 24 BYU women’s volleyball team plays its last two home games of the season this weekend in the Smith Fieldhouse against Gonzaga on Nov. 14 and Portland on Nov. 16.

The Cougars (20-5, 13-2 WCC) dropped from No. 21 to No. 24 after splitting their matches on the road last week. BYU swept San Francisco in three sets but fell to Santa Clara in a disappointing four sets. As a result of this loss, the Cougars are again in a tie for first place in WCC with San Diego.

BYU swept Gonzaga earlier this season and will play the Bulldogs (11-12, 7-7 WCC) again at home on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. MST. The Cougars will then face Portland (0-23, 0-14 WCC) on Nov. 16 at 11 a.m., MST. BYU beat the Portland Pilots in three sets earlier this season.

The Cougars are ranked in the AVCA Coaches Poll for the sixth consecutive week and the eighth week of the season.
