Los Angeles-based, Provo-grown alt-rock band The Moth & the Flame has just announced that it will be accompanying Imagine Dragons on the European Night Visions tour.

“We’ve been hoping for opportunities like this since we started the band but specifically with Imagine Dragons they actually reached out to us,” said Andrew Tolman, the band’s drummer

But this tour won’t be the band’s first time working with Imagine Dragons.

“We did a couple of shows with Imagine Dragons earlier in the year,” said Brandon Robbins, the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist. “They reached out to us and offered a couple of dates they were doing, one in Orem and one in Boise. And we did those shows, and they went really well. It was a good time, and I think they enjoyed it. We definitely enjoyed it.”

The Moth & the Flame toured the western United States in 2011 with fellow Provo music group Fictionist and made its international debut in May 2013 at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, U.K. This tour with Imagine Dragons in particular, though, has come at an opportune moment.

“The timing (of the Night Visions tour) is really perfect for us as a band because we’ve been recording (our EP) for the past six months or so,” Tolman said.

The Ampersand EP (‘&’ EP) is set to be released Nov. 5, but the band will have physical copies available at its release show at the Velour in Provo Friday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m.

“We’re excited to show everyone our growth and see what their reception is like,” Robbins said. “We’re based out of LA, but Provo’s our home.”

According to an announcement by the band on the event’s Facebook page, the Provo show is expected to sell out.
