Hidden exhibitions in the Provo City Library

Provo City Library holds two art exhibits in the academy wing. The Anderson gallery on the second floor will be open until Oct. 30. The Rogers Gallery on the first floor of the Rogers Wing will be open until Sept. 30.

The two art exhibits, though hidden and fairly unknown, display unique and thought provoking art.

The Anderson Gallery features local artist Marilyn Sunderland. Her use of beads and other embellishments on gourds create miniature worlds. Inspired by her Utah backyard, Sunderland creates high art out of natural supplies typically used in crafting projects.

The Rogers gallery displays nature photography by Steven and Diana Acerson, two local artists. The couple’s art displays deeply personal portraits of nature and other subjects.

The Provo area is ripe with exhibits. Students looking for something that is close to campus but not the usual exhibition spots can check out the art galleries in the Provo City Library. The exhibits open during library hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday and until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
