The BYU softball team hosts Loyola Marymount in a four-game conference series this Friday and Saturday at Gail Miller Field. Friday’s games will start at 5 p.m. and Saturday’s at 1 p.m.

BYU is on an 11-game winning streak and coming off a big 5–0 win against Utah State.

“I think this win (against Utah State) is going to give us a great positive roll into the weekend,” BYU infielder Madisen Robb said.

The Cougars are currently 6–2 in conference play. The Lions currently have a winning record and are closely trailing the Cougars in conference standings.

Historically, BYU is 10–2 against Loyola Marymount and have won the last six games played. The series will be LMU’s first visit to Provo and the Cougars will aim to welcome them with a handful of losses.

The Lions are led defensively by pitcher Sydney Gouveia, who has an impressive 13–2 record with a 1.5 ERA just this season. Robb, however, is confident in her team’s offensive ability, especially after Wednesday’s win.

“Every weekend is important for us, and our bats are slowly, but surely, starting to come out better and better,” Robb said. “I think it is going to give us a positive advantage coming out of a win and playing at home.”

Friday’s doubleheader will be available via live stats and Saturday’s doubleheader will be broadcast live on BYUtv for those who cannot make it out to Gail Miller Field.
