The BYU men’s basketball team will return home after a three-game road trip to welcome the Santa Clara Broncos to the Marriott Center on Saturday night.

Following their Thursday night win, the Cougars have a 17–6 overall record and a 7–2 in the conference while the Broncos will come in with a 17–6 overall record and a 5–3 record in conference play. SCU, 4th in the conference, is 1.5 games behind BYU in the WCC standings before Saturday night.

The Broncos have won their last five games with their last loss coming from BYU on January 12. BYU played its most consistent game against SCU in a 82–64 victory and hopes to break SCU’s hot winning streak.

The Cougars allowed SCU to grab 17 offensive rebounds to their nine in the last meeting and must keep SCU’s forward Marc Trasolini off the boards as he finished with a total of 14 rebounds (six offensive rebounds) against BYU.

Despite a losing effort, Broncos’ guard Kevin Foster scored a team-high 22 points against BYU. Foster has not been scoring consistently during their five-game winning streak, but may go off at any time.

In Thursday night’s win, the Cougars were led by their Big 3 but needs the rest of the team to step up in order to avoid slow starts and increase their chances of winning.

BYU and Santa Clara will tip off at 7 p.m. MST at the Marriott Center on Saturday night with a live broadcast on BYUtv.
