Kalood.com, an online deal and marketing website, is offering $10 gift cards for people who register on its website.

Brad Cahoon, Neil Watterson and Matt Smith teamed up with Sammy’s Cafe in Provo to offer $10 gift cards when patrons register for Kalood.com. The website is offering something people want at a price almost everyone can afford — free.

Common phrases like “Google it” or “Facebooking” are recent additions to Urban Dictionary. Cahoon said he wants his brand to be another unique adverb phrase like “Did you Kalood that?” or “It’s been Kalooded.”

Kalood offers a complex matrix to predict what type of someone wants by asking the patron what they want.

“Guys aren’t going to get coupons for spa treatments and manicures,” Cahoon said. “You pick the deals that you want to be notified on.”

Registration is free and the patron selects companies like Jamba Juice to Papa Murphy’s take-n-bake pizza for offers. Kalood will notify the patron via email or text when deals are available.

“It’s really simple. Just sign up and start rating the deals to be eligible for the free $10 Sammy’s gift card,” Kalood said in a news release,

Sam Schultz, owner of Sammy’s cafe in Provo said Cahoon approached him with an idea to got the word out there for Kalood.

“This will be beneficial for both parties,” Schultz said. “And that usually doesn’t happen.”

In giving away the $10 gift cards Schultz said it is a win-win situation where more people will register for Kalood and it will drive more customers to Sammy’s.  More people registering for Kalood will give the website a better demographic and more options of expanding the deals outside of Utah, he said.

“As a fan of Sammy’s and promoting our company,” Cahoon said. “We want every single person and their mother to get their free $10 gift cards.”
