Dear Editor:
Nov. 16 the lead article “Empty Seats may be a Cause for Concern” was accompanied by a picture of Margin Hooks catching the football in front of mostly empty stands. The caption read “Margin Hooks gets ready to return a punt during the football game against San Diego State on Oct. 29.”
Let’s see what’s wrong here. First of all, Margin Hooks does NOT return punts. Second, the alleged empty stands was obviously during the warm-up time before the game, because no one in the picture was paying attention to what was happening on the field. Third, the San Diego State game on Oct. 29 was a NIGHT game and was played in pouring rain. This picture was taken on a bright, sunny day.
This is not the first time this year The Daily Universe has made a major mistake regarding BYU football. Come on Daily Universe, please consult the sports desk before you publish ignorant, fabricated captions.
