One of the nation’s fastest-growing companies is right here in Provo.

Inc. 500 Magazine released its annual ranking of the fastest growing companies in the nation and Eclipse Marketing found its place on the list for the second year in a row.

The Inc. 500 is an exclusive report on the companies and CEO’s who are changing the face of American business.

Eclipse Marketing is ranked as the 88th fastest-growing company in the nation.

Eclipse Marketing is a diversified marketing company that is primarily focused on door-to-door pest control sales.

Brent Bingham, president and CEO of Eclipse Marketing, said the company’s success is largely based on the employees who work for them.

BYU students make up a large number of Eclipse employees.

“College students are sharp; they aren’t career salespersons so they don’t come off as such, and (they) are goal-oriented people,” Bingham said.

Miles McCracken, senior vice president of Eclipse Marketing, said, “BYU has an enormous pool of prospective employees because of the type of students who attend the university. The strong work ethic and good character help them to become successful.”

Aside from personnel, Bingham and McCracken give credit to other sources that contribute to the company’s success.

“One of the keys to our success is that we did not start out huge. We started small and we stayed small by our choice,” McCracken said.

“To be successful you need to rely on a higher source. You need to be living right to receive inspiration and guidance,” Bingham said.

Marco Lorenzana, division vice president for the company, said Eclipse lives by four principles: the law of the harvest, trust, commitment and continual improvement.

“We have been getting better the last eight years because we continually employ these fundamental principles,” Lorenzana said.

Eclipse employees spend their summers selling pest control door-to-door throughout the United States.

Bingham said although the job can be challenging, the company wants to provide the best type of environment possible to help its employees succeed.

“We want what is best for our employees. We want them to have a productive summer that is financially rewarding,” he said.

“This job is not for everybody. We try not to hire those people who will not make enough money to make the experience worth it.”

“We try to paint a sincere picture so only the people who are very determined to do well will be hired,” Lorenzana said.

Eclipse hires its employees based on fundamental social skills rather than sales experience.

“We take the skills they already have and teach them theories on how to apply those skills selling door-to-door,” Lorenzana said.

Last year, the average sales representative earned over $20,000 in four months.

Bingham said he hopes to improve on last year’s average and continue in his goal to make college student millionaires.

“College students are at the perfect age where they need new things. Once they make enough money to cover their schooling, then they can go after the other stuff that people their age want but most college students can’t afford,” Bingham said.
